Pre-Pointe Assessments
A pre pointe assessment determines whether a young dancer is safe and ready to commence pointe work and helps early detection of any pre-disposition to injury. It is usually undertaken when a dancer is 9-12 years of age. Transitioning to en-pointe puts a very high physical demand on the the body, therefore an assessment is highly recommended to help reduce the risk of injury.

Team
Introducing the Valentine Eleebana Physio Team
Annette Chase - Clinical Director and Lead Physiotherapist
A highly decorated and experienced physiotherapist, Annette has a passion for helping her patients and is excited to bring her extensive experience to the communities of Valentine, Eleebana and beyond.
An APA titled Sports and exercise Physiotherapist, Sydney University undergraduate with a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy from Latrobe University, Annette brings over 20 years experience as a physio both in clinic and at sporting events of all levels.
Career highlights have seen her provide physiotherapy coverage at 2 Olympic Games, 2 Commonwealth Games including working as medical lead for Netball at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014, 5 World championships and also World Univerity games. She has worked for over 10 years with England Athletics travelling all over the world (and is now back working with Athletics in Australia), with the British women’s basketball team, Sydney Uni Flames and other elite teams in football (soccer), Rugby and netball. She has provided physio for Torvill and Dean's 'Dancing on Ice' show and consulted for professional dance companies.
Annette has had many articles published on running related injuries and treatment as well as lecturing and running courses on the foot and ankle in which she specialises.
An outstanding junior athlete, (Australian U20 3000m champion, City to Surf Age group winner, Sydney University Scholarship holder for Athletics, Hunter Inland Academy of Sports Sports person of the year winner and Athletics Blue), Annette competed and medaled at local, state and national level in track, road and cross country running. She also swam and competed in triathlons at a high level.
In 2004 Annette suffered a life-threatening DVT and multiple pulmonary embolisms. A delayed diagnosis resulted in irreversible damage to all the deep veins in her right leg. Initially unable to stand without pain, she has shown incredible determination to gradually return to training and competing as much as her disability allows her. She has managed to compete again as a successful local level distance runner.
Annette's vascular insufficiency prevented her from continuing to progress her athletic career as a senior, but this didn't dampen her passion for athletics and Annette has continued to work in the sport as a physiotherapist. She currently continues to work with athletics throughout Australia.
With a career that has taken her from her native Australia to London via Tokyo, Annette now returns to Australia with her family and is honoured to serve the communities of Valentine and Eleebana as your local physiotherapist.
